Lent is a holy season of forty days, not counting Sundays, which begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday, the day before Palm Sunday and the start of Holy Week. The forty days represent the time Jesus spent in the wilderness enduring the temptation of Satan in preparation for His ministry, echoing the forty years the Israelites spent in the wilderness, and the forty days of rain during the Flood of Noah’s time.
Holy Week spans from Palm Sunday to Easter and encompasses the final week of Jesus’ earthly life culminating in His death (and the death of sin’s power over us) and victory over death at His resurrection! This is a most holy time for Christians and we share it with you in the hope that you, too, will come to know and trust Jesus as the Savior of the World.
