As a missional church, we engage in meaningful ministries year-round with many different at-risk communities at the Spirit’s direction and with the Lord’s help. We invite you to join us as we spread Christ’s love locally and around the world.
Deaf Special Needs – We provide Sunday ASL interpretation of our worship services, host gatherings (bowling, parties, dinners) for our local Deaf Special Needs family, and support their yearly summer camp experience with scholarships and our prayers, love, and presence.
First Deaf UMC of Tanzania – We are currently supporting the building of the first Deaf Church in Tanzania in collaboration with Pastor Isaya and the FDUMC congregation!
Grace Methodist Church, India – We founded, built, gave away, and support our sister congregation, Grace Methodist Church in Naskal Village, with love, ongoing prayer, pastoral support, weekly food stipends, annual student scholarships, holiday gifts, and much more.
Hope Park Outreach – We provide love, prayers, food, supplies, support, and rehab scholarships to the addicted and homeless at Hope Park in Kensington every other Sunday. You can help to provide food for our outreaches through this link or join us on the street as we practice loving like Jesus.
Jenkintown Food Cupboard – We tithe 10% of every non-missional dollar to our local food bank to help feed our neighbors – over $81,000 since 2020. We also supply fresh herbs and vegetables in season from our church garden so that our neighbors may taste and see how good God is.
Nursing Home Ministry – We engage in ministries of love with the folks at our local nursing home year-round with a variety of small groups, seasonal giftings, our prayers, and our presence.
EGG Ministry – Every Good Gift Every Good Gift is a non-profit charitable organization, meeting here at LFUMC and in Kensington, which provides job training for young mothers in the Philadelphia region. Their mission is to share the love of Christ with vulnerable women and nurture healthy job, life, and relationship skills while creating quality products for customers. UMCOR is the humanitarian relief and development arm of The United Methodist Church. UMCOR assists United Methodists and churches to become involved globally in direct ministry to persons in need, coming alongside those who suffer from natural or human-caused disasters – famine, hurricane, war, flood, fire, or other events—to alleviate suffering and serve as a source of help and hope for the vulnerable. UMCOR provides relief, response, and long-term recovery grants when events overwhelm a community, providing technical support and training for partners to address emerging and ongoing issues related to disaster relief, recovery, and long-term health and development.
